Savory Mushroom And Lentil Hand Pies Recipe

The savory mushroom and lentil hand pies will please handheld snackers, but what are they? Individually folded puffed pastry with savory or sweet filling.

2 tablespoons oil 2 chopped leeks 1 diced carrot 4 cups chopped mushrooms 1 cups cooked black lentils 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon onion powder ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon pepper 2 sheets puffed pastry, thawed



Start oven at 375 F. Heat oil in a large pan on medium-high. In the pan, cook leeks, mushrooms, and carrots for 8 minutes.

Stir in lentils, vinegar, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, onion, garlic, and salt. Cook 5 minutes low. Four squares per puffed pastry make eight.

Center each square with ¼ cup of lentil mushroom mixture. Make a triangle by folding. Finger-seal with water. Press edges with fork.

Make 8 hand pies by repeating. On two baking sheets, bake the hand pies for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
